Laurie Williams TrumpetArt

My name is Laurie Williams of Boyds, MD and I recently dove into the world of art after being inspired by the bright colors of alcohol ink and the geometrical designs of Zentangle® inspired art.  I was so compelled that I decided to give it a try and have been surprised with the results.

It’s difficult for me to classify myself as an “artist” by the traditional definition.  I think everyone is an artist in their own way.  I just enjoy what I do and I hope others do as well!  If I can bring a smile to someone’s face or move them in some way, I’m happy.  But then again, most artist I know feel this way.

I’m a mother to two amazing daughters and a wife to a very supportive and caring husband. I’m so fortunate that God has blessed me with such a wonderful family.  By trade, I’m an Internet marketer and graphic designer.  In 2002, after the birth of my oldest daughter, I decided to venture on my own and start Trumpet Marketing, a branding, design and marketing company. I love this line of work because every project is creative, unique and different… keeping it interesting and fun.   Prior to starting TMG, I worked as a sales representative in the computer software industry, evangelizing and promoting products from consumer directories on CD-ROM to high-end telecommunication operational support systems.    I found that while I loved being able to travel in that field, what I most enjoyed was the marketing aspect of it… especially the cool and creative!

As a young child in Mississippi, I was always in awe of my uncle David Gallagher‘s work. He is a true artist in every sense of the word. He has always created these exceptionally amazing works with just a pencil and piece of paper. The expression in his work is incredible and we (our family) have always been amazed at his natural, pure, self-taught talent.  He has always been like a brother to me and as an inquisitive niece, I always watched him and took note.  He inspired me more than I knew!

I’ve started TrumpetArt to showcase my work, and the work of my uncle, as well.  Although it’s out of my comfort-zone to sell art the I create, I AM an entrepreneur at heart!  So, I have to give it a try. : )  Maybe I can at least support my passion.  If I never make a dime, the relaxation, release and enjoyment I get from it makes me the richest woman alive!

Thanks for visiting. I hope you enjoy.
